Anti-social behaviour case review

Escalating complaints of anti-social behaviour with an ASB case review (formerly known as Community Trigger)

  • Have you reported the same anti-social behaviour to Camden Council 3 times in the last 6 months?
  • Do you consider that no action has been taken?

Then you may want to use the ASB case review process

What is an ASB case review?

The process enables victims of anti-social behaviour (ASB) and hate incidents, the right to ask agencies to review how previous reports have been responded to and consider what further actions may be taken where the behaviour persists.

The process is designed to make sure that we work together to try and resolve complaints about ASB. The case review helps us and you, by making sure that no-one suffering the effects of ASB falls through the net. It will also help ensure that everything that can be done is being done.

How does it work?

  • Any individual, business or community group (or a representative with written consent) can request an ASB case review
  • The ASB case review process can be used when there have been at least 3 separate incidents regarding anti-social behaviour or hate incidents reported in the last 6 months, or 5 individuals have separately reported about the same issue in the last 6 months
  • The complaints relate to the same behaviour, nuisance or problem
  • The incidents were reported within 1 month of them happening
  • The request for an ASB case review must be made within 6 months from when the original complaint was made.
  • Anonymous reports do not meet the ASB case review threshold.

Please note: The ASB review is not a complaints process. If you are unhappy with a council service please use the complaints process

How to request an ASB case review

You can make a request in the following ways:

Online: ASB case review form or email CSASBReview@camden.gov.uk.

Telephone: 020 7974 4444 (Hold for submenu and choose option 6 for Camden Community Safety)

You will need to specify that you would like an ASB Case review.

Please provide details of each time you have reported the issue, to who (name, organisation and/or incident reference number) and information about the ASB taking place.

What can you expect?

Once you have asked for an ASB case review, your application will be assessed and you will receive an initial response as soon as possible.

If your request meets the criteria then the council, police and other agencies involved will undertake a case review. We will contact you further to discuss and explain the next steps that will be taken with the appropriate partner agencies. The ASB review will make an assessment on whether any actions that have been taken, in response to the issues you have reported, have been adequate.
