Coronavirus (COVID-19) personal licence update

Due to the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020, the licensing service will not currently be accepting postal applications. All applications should be made online, where they shall be processed according to the relevant legislation. Any queries in relation to this should be directed to the Licensing Team on 020 7974 4444.

Apply for a personal licence

You will need a personal licence if you want to:

  • allow the sale or supply alcohol at a licensed premises
  • be the designated premises supervisor (DPS) at a licensed premises

You will need to pay a fee of £37.

Before you start

You will need:

  • two passport sized photographs
  • your licensing qualification certificate
  • a basic DBS check certificate dated within the last 28 days
