Find and reserve library items

We regret that customers cannot reserve items from any Camden library, or from the SELMS group of libraries or request other inter-library loans. 

But starting from Monday 17 August, customers can request and then pick up books from three of our libraries: Swiss Cottage, Holborn and Highgate.

Renew your library items

Renew online

Note: during this closure period all items on loan are now due back on 1 October 2020.

You can also renew:

•    by phoning 020 7974 4001. Automated renewals available 24/7. Operators available 8am - 6pm
•    at a library catalogue terminal or self-service kiosk
•    at a library counter. You only need to show your library card. You do not need to bring the items with you

Please remember:

  • you can renew up to 5 times. To renew a 6th time, items must be returned to a Camden library and re-issued
  • if you are renewing audiovisual items (videos, DVDs, CDs or audio cassettes) there will be a re-hire fee
  • fees and fines are recorded on your account
  • you can’t renew items online if your library card has expired, if you have an item that is more than 10 weeks overdue, or if you owe more than £5 in unpaid fines
